基于ICT技术的中医向其他自然科学学科知识迁移的研究

探讨中医现代化研究中中医学科向其他自然科学学科知识迁移的问题。通过对学科知识的成分进行分析,提出建立知识模型之间的迁移路径是知识迁移的有效方法。提出中医学科知识到数学和物理学科的迁移过程应该以现代的ICT技术为基础,由文句解析、文字形式化处理、数值图像建模、状态抽象化、导入物理元素、导入环境因素这六个阶段构成。还提出了中医知识迁移的过程中应该利用异步通讯的方法进行反馈。     

‘Age of despair’, or ‘when life starts’: migrant and refugee women negotiate constructions of menopause

There has been a call for research on migrant and refugee women’s negotiation of diverse discourses and cultural constraints associated with sexual embodiment, including menopause, in order to facilitate sexual and reproductive health and understand gendered subjectivity. This study examined the construction and experience of menopause among migrant and refugee women who had settled in Australia or Canada in the last 10 years. Eighty-four individual interviews and 16 focus groups comprising 85 participants were conducted (total n?=?169), with women aged 18 years and over from Afghanistan, India (Punjab), Iraq, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri-Lanka (Tamil), Sudan and various South American (Latina) backgrounds. Thematic decomposition identified three discursive themes: Menopause as the Age of Despair; a Discourse of Silence and Secrecy; and Menopause as a Life Stage – or when Life Starts. Negative constructions of menopause, associated with silence and secrecy, were evident across different cultural groups, with implications for women’s positioning and experience of menopausal change and embodiment. However, resistance to negative discourse was also evident. This was primarily associated with having received menopause education and more open communication about menopausal change, suggesting that education and health information can facilitate affirming aspects of menopause.     

The preventive role of wheat germ oil against sertraline‐induced testicular damage in male albino rats

Sertraline is an antidepressant medication used extensively in the therapy of depression. The present investigation was intended to estimate the actual protective role of wheat germ oil on sertraline‐caused testicular injury in albino rats. Sertraline (human therapeutic dose, 15.63 mg/kg) was orally administrated to rats for 28 successive days. Sertraline‐administered rats were concurrently supplemented with wheat germ oil (human therapeutic dose, 68.75 mg/kg) for 28 successive days. Sertraline administration induced an elevation in testicular DNA damage and acute testicular damage illustrated by the histopathological alterations including marked degeneration and necrosis of germ cells lining seminiferous tubules, as well as interstitial oedema, congestion of interstitial blood vessel. Wheat germ oil administration potentially mitigated the histopathological alterations of sertraline‐administered rats. Lipid peroxidation, oxidative stress biomarker, showed a significant elevation in testicular tissue of sertraline‐administered rats. Furthermore, glutathione content and catalase activity were decreased in testicular tissue of sertraline‐administered rats. Serum testosterone level was elevated in sertraline‐administered rats. Wheat germ oil significantly reduced lipid peroxidation of testicular tissue and improved the antioxidant defences. Finally, wheat germ oil has a preventive role against testicular damage induced by sertraline in rats probably via its potential to prevent reactive oxygen species.     

Using online content uniformity measurements for rapid automated process development exemplified via an X-ray system

This paper addresses the relevance of automated content testing for the rapid automated process development (RAPD). Our previous work demonstrated that RAPD allowed a fast and efficient development of a continuous capsule-filling process. Target was the mean weight and the relative standard deviation of the weight. Likewise important are the content and the content uniformity. However, an implementation demands a certain level of automation. In general, technology is available that can detect active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) inside the capsules but the final application is linked to additional development and investment in machinery. To eliminate doubts regarding the benefits of an automated content check within the RAPD we present an application example. First, an X-ray system was used to detect barium sulfate accurately inside capsules. Second, a process was developed where barium sulfate was filled. The concentration of excipients was modified in the experiments, as well as the setting of the process parameter. The obtained model provided an explicit understanding of the process. Subsequently, the content uniformity model was compared to a model of the capsule weight relative standard deviation, confirming the benefits of an automated content check in the RAPD. Moreover, we presented another example illustrating the advantages of a connected continuous filling process, which permits evaluation of all process steps and their interactions (i.e. evaluation of the entire process).     

Jesus is in Favor: Catholicism and Assisted Reproduction in Italy

While religion is part of the modernities of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), this has mainly been investigated in non-Western or non-Christian contexts. In this article, I argue that in contemporary Italy, Catholicism affects not only law- and policymaking processes but also (prospective) parents’ experiences of ART and donor conception in contradictory and unexpected ways. Officially, the Roman Church strongly opposes ART, but Catholic principles, affiliations, and rituals are mobilized in ways that contribute to legitimizing and making sense of ART as a means to create kinship and reproduce Italian national identity.     

Mixed Reality Combined with Three‐Dimensional Printing Technology in Total Hip Arthroplasty: An Updated Review with a Preliminary Case Presentation

Three‐dimensional (3D) printing technology, virtual reality, and augmented reality technology have been used to help surgeons to complete complex total hip arthroplasty, while their respective shortcomings limit their further application. With the development of technology, mixed reality (MR) technology has been applied to improve the success rate of complicated hip arthroplasty because of its unique advantages. We presented a case of a 59‐year‐old man with an intertrochanteric fracture in the left femur, who had received a prior left hip fusion. After admission to our hospital, a left total hip arthroplasty was performed on the patient using a combination of MR technology and 3D printing technology. Before surgery, 3D reconstruction of a certain bony landmark exposed in the surgical area was first performed. Then a veneer part was designed according to the bony landmark and connected to a reference registration landmark outside the body through a connecting rod. After that, the series of parts were made into a holistic reference registration instrument using 3D printing technology, and the patient's data for bone and surrounding tissue, along with digital 3D information of the reference registration instrument, were imported into the head‐mounted display (HMD). During the operation, the disinfected reference registration instrument was installed on the selected bony landmark, and then the automatic real‐time registration was realized by HMD through recognizing the registration landmark on the reference registration instrument, whereby the patient's virtual bone and other anatomical structures were quickly and accurately superimposed on the real body of the patient. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report to use MR combined with 3D printing technology in total hip arthroplasty.     

卵巢储备功能降低不孕症中西医结合治疗的理论与临床试验研究探讨

卵巢储备功能降低(DOR)导致的不孕症业已成为生殖健康领域的难题,引起了国内外学者的广泛关注,其根本病机为肾精亏虚。中医药治疗不孕症历史悠久、经验丰富,针对DOR不孕症,从肾论治。将中西医治疗思想相结合,辨病论治与辨证论治结合,采纳中医专病通治方的理念,确定补肾养血、疏肝健脾的治法治则,组方遣药,通过中药补肾方加减可多系统、多靶点、多环节调节生殖功能,充分发挥中医药优势。同时,提出"长(卵)排(卵)并调,数量质量并举"假说,临床上采用中西医结合的两阶段疗法,达到增加卵泡数量,改善卵泡质量,促进卵泡发育和排出的效果,有效规范治疗DOR不孕症。
